1. The book begins with "It was not that Omri didn't appreciate Patrick's birthday present to him." What does this statement tell you about Omri?
2. Why is Omri disappointed with Patrick's gift?
3. Why doesn't Omri tell his family when he discovers the Indian is alive? What would you have done?

He was grateful for the gift that Patrick gave him. He was diappointed in Patick's gift, because Omri really wanted a football. Omri doesn't tell His parents, because he does not tell anyone about the Indian coming to life. It's kind of like Omri's litte secret about the Indian. What I would do is keep it all to myself so, I would be the only one to know about the Indian and I really would not have told my parents they would have probably thought the Indian was haunted.A.S
When it says that statment about not liking the the gift, Omri likes the gift, but he was hoping that he would get something that was better. He was not hoping that it would be a cupboard. He was at least happy that it came from his brother. Omri is disappointed with Patrick's gift, because he was hoping that he would get something that he did not have. For example, I think that he would love to have his own phone that he could use to talk to his friends. Plus, he could call his parents if he needed help. He would not tell his parents about the Indain, because he thought that if he would take his full attention off of the Indian, the Indain would have turned into plastic. I would have not turned my back on the Indain, because if he turned into plastic I would have no proof. This is K.L.H. rocking and rolling at Spaght.

It means Omri liked the present, but he had so many plastic figures. He actully wanted a football. When he found out the Indian was alive he didn't want to tell his folks, because he was worried it might turn to plastic. If I were to witness that scene I would lock it up and never let it out!
He was grateful for the gift that Patrik gave him. Omri was disappointed, because what he really wanted was a football. Omri doesn't tell his family about the Indian, because he knew it would make it seem like he was lieing.I would keep it to myself, because I would not trust anybody with the secret, becuase I think people would make fun of me and call me imaginary boy.

Omri is a giving boy, but he does not want to hurt Patrick's feelings. Omri was not very excited with Patrick's gift, because he had a lot of plastic Indians, but he had no Cowboys to play with. Omri does not tell anyone about the Indian, because he had no proof and no one would believe him. Omri dropped the little toy Indian in his pocket. So when his brother gave a cupboard that he found in the alley he was very excited, because he loved to arrange things in shelves. His mom was washing clothes when she found the little toy Indian in his pocket. She called Omri down with the toy in her hand. Once Omri saw the little toy Indian in his mother's hand she gave it to him and he went back to what he was doing. That same night he heard a noise coming from the cupboard.Omri was petrified.Once he opened the cupboard the little toy Indian was gone.
